The Dutch gas infrastructure company is seeking to procure 40 MW of energy capacity from a new offshore wind project for ten years, with operations beginning on either January 1, 2029, or January 1, 2030. The electricity must be physically delivered along with traceable Guarantees of Origin certificates.
This procurement forms part of Gasunie's broader strategy to source 40 percent of its energy from carbon-free sources by 2030. The contract will be awarded based on the lowest all-in price for electricity and associated certificates.
Optional Expansions
The tender includes two potential capacity increases. The first option would add 10 MW from 2029/2030 until 2036, with possible extension through the contract's end, contingent on a final investment decision for the EemsEnergyTerminal project by mid-2027.
A second provision allows for up to 10 MW of additional capacity during the contract term through mutual agreement. Companies have until September 30, 2026, at 11:00 CET to submit bids, with information requests accepted until September 4, 2026.
